On the afternoon of May 30, the 13th Challenge Cup Guangdong University Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition co-sponsored by the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Provincial Association for Science and Technology, and the Provincial Federation of Students was successfully concluded at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. The entry project Flower Companion - Enjoying the Art of Embossing, Creating the Beauty of Business Customization directed by our teacher Chen Guoju won the gold award. This is the first time that our school has won the provincial challenge cup gold award since 2018. 

The Challenge Cup Guangdong University Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition is a provincial-level event of the national competition. This competition has set up scientific and technological innovation and future industries, rural revitalization and agriculture around the five development concepts of innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing. Rural modernization, social governance and public services, ecological environmental protection and sustainable development, cultural creativity and regional cooperation five tracks. The finals will conduct a comprehensive review and defense by means of an online review. Our school achieved good results of 5 golds, 4 silvers and 4 bronzes, and took home the winning cup. Our school's Flower Companion project won the gold medal in the social governance and public service group.

The School of Horticulture attaches great importance to innovation and entrepreneurship, and actively encourages and guides students to participate in various high-level discipline competitions and innovation and entrepreneurship competitions to cultivate students' practical and innovative abilities in accordance with the relevant requirements of the school's double first-class university construction. In April 2021, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Laboratory for College Students of the School of Horticulture was unveiled and put into use, which greatly promoted the development of related work in our school.

In order to prepare for this Challenge Cup Guangdong University Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition, the college started to mobilize all teachers and students to carry out the preliminaries in the college since October last year, selected excellent projects, organized team students for training, continuous polishing, simulated defense, invited Youth League committees, Experts inside and outside the school, such as the founding academy, provide targeted guidance to the project to help optimize and improve the project work. In the end, the college's project team successfully stood out from 1,763 works from 151 participating colleges and universities in the province and won the gold award. (Text: Zhang Yuxi)
