The course "The Art of Embossing" from our school's teacher Chen Guoju was awarded the first batch of national first-class undergraduate courses

On October 29th, the Ministry of Education issued the Announcement on the Results of the First Batch of National First-Class Undergraduate Courses, and the course The Art of Embossing-Discovering the Beauty of Plants by Mr. Chen Guoju from our school was awarded the first batch of national first-class undergraduate courses online First-class course.


In order to deepen the reform of education and teaching, the Ministry of Education aims to build about 10,000 state-level and provincial-level first-class undergraduate courses in about three years. This national first-class undergraduate course certification is recommended by provincial education administrative departments and universities. The Ministry of Education organizes network review and conference review. It is planned to recognize 3560 courses as the first batch of national first-class undergraduate courses, including 717 online first-class courses. There are 327 first-class courses in virtual simulation experiment teaching, 1,464 first-class offline courses, 868 first-class online and offline hybrid courses, and 184 first-class social practice courses.

The course The Art of Embossing-Discovering the Beauty of Plants by Chen Guoju is based on the introduction of embossing art, embossing tools and supplies, explanation of embossing technology, the theory of embossed works art composition, embossing painting design and production, and work mounting techniques. Improve the students' scientific and artistic accomplishments, guide them to pursue a more meaningful and interesting life, cultivate their moral character, and cultivate their sentiment. The course was launched in December 2018 and has been running for 5 semesters, with a total of 26,900 elective courses, 114 elective schools, and a total of 74,700 interactions.

Chen Guoju: Professor of South China Agricultural University, PhD supervisor; Chairman of the Embossing Branch of the Chinese Horticultural Society, Director of the International Embossing Association in China; Editor-in-chief of the National Textbook Embossing Art in the 15th Planning of the Ministry of Education for Higher Education Institutions; presided over more than 20 Scientific research projects, published more than 20 SCI papers. The embossed works have won many awards at home and abroad.
