Top 10 Advances in 2019 of Horticulture College

  Time flies, 2019 has passed. Looking back on the past year, many achievements have been made in the College of Horticulture. On the arrival of the new year 2020,let's review the top ten developments in 2019.

  No.1 The school's party and government leadership team began a new journey, and launched the theme education of “Don't forget your original heart and remember your mission”strongly.

  No.2 Horticulture was selected as the national first-class undergraduate professional construction site, and tea science was selected as the first-class undergraduate professional construction site in Guangdong Province in 2019.

  No.3 Professor Cao Panrong's scientific research achievement Promotion and Application of Tea Garden Pest Ecological Control Technology won the first prize of Guangdong Agricultural Technology Extension in 2018.

  No.4 Professor Wang Huicong  awarded the Guangdong May 1st Labor Medal and May 1st Excellent Women Prize; the Litchi Technology Innovation Team led by Researcher Li Jianguo won the 2018-2019 Shennong China Agricultural Science and Technology Award Excellent Innovation Team Award.

  No.5 The Mu class embossing technology - discovering the beauty of plants by Chen Guoju was selected as the top online open course of Guangdong Province in 2019.

   No.6 The total funding for scientific research of the college has exceeded 40 million yuan, a new high record.

   No.7 There are 171 academic papers published by teachers, 76 papers included in SCI, the total influencing factors are more than 279, and the highest influencing factor of single paper is 15.221.

   No.8 Two professors, Yang xian and Huang Xuming, were selected as the chief experts of innovation team of modern agricultural industrial technology system in Guangdong Province.

   No.9 Vigorously serve the rural revitalization. The college presided over the docking of 32 provincial-level modern agricultural industrial parks, with a contract amount of nearly 5 million yuan; signed a contract with the local government to jointly build Southern Litchi Industry Research Institute and Dapu honey pomelo Research Institute; the Volunteer Activities for the Country People, led by the college,  which were acknowledged by the Rural Work Office of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee.

   No.10 A series of activities were held to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the University. More than 900 alumni returned to the University. A tea industry branch of the Alumni Association of South China Agricultural University and a Council of horticultural alumni were established.
