Recently, the 2019 Annual Summary Meeting of the National Litchi Longan Industrial Technology System was held in Xiancun Town, Litchi Town in Zengcheng District, Guangzhou. All system experts and some team members participated in the meeting. Lin Jianming, Director of the Tropical Crops Division of the Farm Reclamation Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Yuan Xian, Deputy District Chief of Zengcheng District, Wen Xiaobo, Vice President of South China Agricultural University, and Feng Tong, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs attended the summary meeting and gave speeches. Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences Dean Lu Huazhong spoke on behalf of the experts at the system post.

   In the speech, the system's supporting unit, Vice President Wen Xiaobo of our school, pointed out that the system's various work is solid and effective, providing strong technical support for the development of litchi longan industry in China. This is due to the correct leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the strong support of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the hard work of all experts and team members of the system. In recent years, the South China Agricultural University has established the Litchi Branch of the National Fruit and Fruit Improvement Center, undertook a major joint scientific research project on litchi varieties, won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and trained a group of outstanding talents in litchi research. The research team won the Excellent Team Award of the China Agricultural Science and Technology Award. Recently, Zengcheng Litchi Research Institute of South China Agricultural University has been jointly established with Xiancun Town of Zengcheng District to further integrate scientific and technological innovation resources to form a chain-type and grouped expert team to carry out joint tackling and collaborative services in response to local industrial technology needs, and effectively improve the local Industrial development level and competitiveness.

   Deputy Director Feng Tong emphasized that the national and Guangdong province attaches great importance to the litchi industry and has started the construction of five national and provincial litchi and longan industrial parks to support the construction of a one village, one product, one town, one industry litchi project. Efforts to build the Guangdong litchi brand, complement each other and develop together. Increase industrial investment, implement the corporate main body, market operation, multi-party coordination mechanism, and will formulate relevant policies to promote the development of litchi industry.

    Director Lin Jianming presided over the assessment of Chief Scientist Chen Houbin, and the System Implementation Expert Group presided over the conclusion and evaluation of 18 post scientists and 11 directors of comprehensive test stations. According to Chen Houbin's chief job report, the system further optimized the operating mechanism, enhanced the vitality and the ability to solve industrial problems, and added system workstations in Zengcheng, Xinxing and Chongqing according to industrial needs and local requirements. New breakthroughs have been made in the adjustment of variety structure, a mature supporting Feizixiao planting technology model has been established, a high-quality litchi rotation result technology has been initially implemented, a number of equipment adapted to the litchi longan garden have been developed and introduced, and a number of litchi longan diversification has been developed and demonstrated The product has stored processing technology and formula, which provides powerful technical support for the development of litchi longan industry. The suggestions provided provide a reference for party committees and governments at all levels to formulate industrial development policies. Follow-up will take advantage of the system's strength to focus on major issues, and strive to resolve the neck problem of the litchi longan industry at an early date. The meeting also analyzed the lychee longan production situation in 2020, and discussed important measures to further stimulate the vitality of the system and cultivate young members' service industry capabilities.
