Research Team of Genomics and MolecularBreeding in Vegetable

Team leader: Hu Kailin

TheResearch Team of Genomics and Molecular Breeding in Vegetable was establishedin 2015. We have five researchers and two research assistants. Normally, wehave around 10 postgraduate students and visiting scientists. The three majorareas of research are Vegetable (mainly pepper, tomato, bitter gourd and spongegourd) Genomics, QTL mapping and MAS, Gene cloning and functional analysis. Ourresearch projects are mainly from National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC), China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Guangdong provincial government. Inthe recent five years, we have published more than 30 journal articles in PNAS,Scientific Reports, PLoS One, Euphytica, Mol. Breed. and so on. We alsodeveloped the Industry Standards for bitter gourd and bottle gourd.
